
Philadelphia 76ers star Jimmy Butler said after a recent shootaround that he doesn’t plan on playing basketball once age reached 35 years old, according to Keith Pompey from the Philadelphia Inquirer. Butler was asked about how he thinks he’ll be able to play at 35, to which he responded:
“I don’t plan on playing this game when I’m 35 years old, so I’m not even worried about that.”
After he was asked how many years will he play before he makes the decision of retiring.
“That’s between me and whatever I tell myself later on. But, I’m telling you right now, 35, I’m trying to be done before then.”
Butler is 29 right now so if he plans to retire at 35, he still has 6 seasons left including the current season. Butler is an eight-year veteran, drafted in the 2011 NBA Draft and has been selected to the NBA All-Star game four times. This season Butler has averaged 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 33 minutes per game.
