Depending on which reports you believe, Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler may or may not be for sale. Regardless of whether or not the Bulls intend to trade him, Butler maintains that he wants to stay in Chicago. From Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago:
“What’s Thursday? Oh, trade deadline,” Butler said. “I don’t know. I don’t know. Am I anxious? Come on, man. I don’t worry about it. It don’t bother or scare me none.”
“Hopefully I’m not going to get traded but I don’t know. I don’t control that. Control what I can control, like going on vacation.”
…
“Not for me,” said Butler of the potential stress. “Not saying I’m untradeable but I don’t think about that. If I’m not in a Bulls uniform, I’ll give you a hug and say goodbye to you.”
The Bulls are at a crossroads; do they keep Butler and build around him, or go the route of the Sacramento Kings and trade their franchise player to rebuild?
The Boston Celtics have been the team most frequently mentioned in Butler trade rumors. The Celtics are likely a star away from competing with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and have the assets to trade for Butler.
