NBC is bringing the hilarious Elf movie to the small screen and has called on Jim Parsons to lead the voice cast.
Parsons, star of The Big Bang Theory will star as Buddy in the one-hour animated special Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas.
The holiday special is based on the popular 2003 Will Ferrell movie Elf, which earned over $220 million at the box office world wide.
Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas will retell Buddy’s story and will blend the look of the stop-motion animated Christmas specials of the past with modern-day film.
In the special, Santa narrates the story of Buddy’s adventure to New York City to meet the father he never knew he had.
During his journey, his permanent cheerfulness ends up touching the lives of everyone who crosses his path and opens his father’s eyes to the magic of Christmas.
The show is scheduled to air on Tuesday, December 16 at 8pm.
