Triller is making big moves in the world of boxing. The social media app recently announced that it has finalized a deal with former HBO Boxing announcer Jimy Lampley. With this deal, Lampley will call the welterweight showdown between Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos along with any major bouts that may follow on the platform.
“It is an honor and a privilege to welcome the preeminent voice in boxing, Jim Lampley, to Triller Fight Club,” Triller CEO Ryan Kavanaugh said.
“We will blend all the best elements of music, entertainment and sports, and there is no one better to help lead our broadcasts for fans of all ages than Jim.”
Triller is attempting to rebound after a tough run in the spring. Breadwinners Jake Paul and Mike Tyson both opted to leave the platform in pursuit of other deals. However, they have bounced back by signing a deal with the Big3 and a potential bout between Oscar De La Hoya and George St. Pierre in September.
“I am impressed that Triller Fight Club is aggressively seeking to put together the best telecast possible, and it is that mentality that makes Triller the best possible platform for my return to ringside,” Lampley said.
“This first telecast features Teofimo Lopez, conqueror of the great Vasiliy Lomachenko and an exciting new talent who has already made a historic mark on the sport. That says it all for me.”
Lampley’s first fight with Triller, Lopez-Kambosos, is set to take place on June 19 in Florida.
The legend Jim Lampley is the new lead voice of Triller Fight Club.
