Earlier this year, Dipset member, Juelz Santana, made headlines when he had a run in with law enforcement at the airport. Today, another member of the rap collective made headlines after a run in with the police. Earlier today, Jim Jones and a few of his friends were arrested after they led police on a car chase.
According to multiple reports, Jim Jones was riding in the backseat of a car with three other men when a Cowetta County police officer signaled for them to pull over. Instead of stopping, the car allegedly sped up and the chase began. When the car was eventually pulled over, police allegedly found marijuana, oxycodone, percocets, two loaded firearms and cash. While Jones admitted to having a prescription for the oxycodone and percocets, the four men declined ownership of the remainder of the items.
As a result, Jones was charged with possessing a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana and a slew of other felonies. Jones was also charged with a misdemeanor for not having the prescribed drugs in their assigned container. Shortly after being detained, Jones was released on $7,000 bail.
The arrest comes at an inconvenient time for Jones who has been on a wonderful run with the release of his album, A Waste of Talent, and buying a stake of an Arena Football League team. Hopefully, Jones will be able to move past these charges in the near future.
