Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Lex Luthor for the highly anticipated superhero showdown ‘Superman vs Batman’.
Screenwriter David S. Goyer said the character will be different than the usual Lex Luthor.
“What’s great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He’s a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman.”
According to Variety, Jeremy Irons is also cast for Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler Alfred.
He will join Henry Cavill who will reprise his role as Superman and Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot who also join as Batman and Wonder Woman.
The movie will begin filming in Michigan next month.
‘Superman vs Batman’ is slated for a May 6, 2016 release.
