‘Linsanity’ is over in New York, it’s the ‘End of the Lin’ as the New York Post so eloquently put it this morning, and Jeremy Lin is officially a Houston Rocket. Again. The Knicks declined to match the Rockets 3-year, $25.1 million offer sheet to the point guard who took the NBA by storm last season, the deal is heavily back-loaded and the Knicks became wary of paying almost $1.75 for every $1 over the luxury tax threshold in the final year of Lin’s deal.
Lin took to Twitter last night and explained his was “excited” to rejoin the team that waived prior to the beginning of last season.
“Extremely excited and honored to be a Houston Rocket again!!” Lin said on Twitter shortly after the New York Knicks confirmed late Tuesday they wouldn’t match Houston’s three-year, $25 million offer for the 23-year-old player.
