Lamb is signing this extension after coming off the best season of his career. The Hornets guard averaged 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists this past season. Lamb’s numbers steadily improved with a bigger role in Charlotte after playing in Oklahoma City behind Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant.
Indiana will hope this will continue to bolster the backcourt that already added Malcolm Brogdon. Lamb will help further add a defensive presence as well as help a team that was only 22nd in points per game last season. If Victor Olapido is able to return to All-Star form, the Pacers will hope these improvements will help them challenge in a now wide-open eastern conference.
