With new albums from Jorja Smith and Ne-Yo on the way, Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign have added to what already was one of the best days of the year for R&B. Earlier this week, Joe Budden teased the release of the long awaited Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign by playing a snippet of an unreleased song. In the clip, listeners could hear and Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih trade bars over Hitmaka produced beat. Today, we got the full version of the track and it’s called “The Light”. The three minute track has light, summer feel that allows Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign to serenade a few women that they are interested in.
Ty Dola $ign opens up the track by singing, “Let’s have sex, but not without the foreplay/But not without the first date /But not before I have to wonder if you let me hit/If I walk you to your doorway/Let’s have sex, but not without the sprees babe/Not without the vacays, no.” Jeremih handles the first verse by letting her know, “I’m not a kid anymore/But these days I’m thinkin’ baby we should f*ck again/I’m tryna meet you in Vegas and try my luck again/All your friends say you weren’t really in love with him.” From there, Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign flawlessly float back and forth for the remainder of the promising new single.
“The Light” serves as the first single off of the duo’s joint album, MihTy. The album does not currently have a release date, but it is expected to hit the internet this summer. For now, enjoy the first single.
