Variety is reporting that Jennifer Cheon Garcia will be joining the fifth season of The CW’s Supergirl. Garcia is reportedly set to portray Midnight, a villain who is the embodiment of darkness in the DC Arrowverse. Here’s the character’s official description: “Midnight is a murderous villain released from an otherworldly prison to enact revenge against the person who put her there.”
Garcia is likely best known for her recurring role in the second and third seasons of Netflix’s Van Helsing adaptation. She also guest-starred in an episode of The 100 back in 2017. That same year she appeared in an episode of Supernatural as well. She also played a small part in 2016’s Star Trek Beyond.
At Comic-Con, The CW revealed that Brandon Routh will be reprising his role as Superman in this year’s Arrowverse crossover event. It’s unknown whether or not he’ll appear in any CW show otherwise. But, I’d put my money on Supergirl for a surprise Routh cameo.
