Jemele Hill has announced that she will executive produce an upcoming ESPN documentary about Colin Kaepernick.
“[I’m] very excited to announce that I’ll be serving as a producer on Colin Kaepernick’s docuseries, as part of his production deal with ESPN/Disney,” she tweeted.
Very excited to announce that I’ll be serving as a producer on @Kaepernick7’s docuseries, as part of his production deal with ESPN/Disney and content collaboration w/ @TheUndefeated. I consider it an honor to play any role in telling Colin’s story https://t.co/awYuC3VIRe

“Colin’s vision for this collaboration isn’t just about content, but empowerment. He was adamant that his work be surrounded by black and brown voices. It also was important for me to use my influence to elevate these voices, particularly inside of ESPN. I am truly grateful,” she adds.
Hill infamously left ESPN in 2018 after repeated social media run-ins with President Donald Trump. During her time at the network, she appeared on a number of shows like Sports Reporters, Around The Horn and First Take. She also co-hosted His & Hers and SportsCenter with former ESPN personality Michael Smith.
ESPN has not yet announced when the Kaepernick documentary series will air.
