Jeffrey Epstein has allegedly committed suicide at the age of sixty-six. The alleged sex trafficker was found unresponsive in his cell at Metropolitan Correctional Center at 6:30 a.m. on August 10th. The correctional center then transported him to a downtown New York hospital. After arriving at the hospital, medical professionals pronounced Epstein dead.
Epstein’s death comes as a shock to many around the country. Three weeks prior, the convicted sex offender was unresponsive in his cell. After being found in his cell in July, ABC News reports that marks were found on his neck. As a result, the Metropolitan Correctional Center placed Epstein on suicide watch. However, he was not on suicide watch at the time of his death.
Prior to his death, Epstein was preparing to stand trial for allegedly abusing a dozen women and under age girls in both New York and Florida. He had plead not guilty to the charges and was facing up to forty-five years in jail if convicted.
Epstein had become the subject of media attention because of his connection Donald Trump. During a 2002 interview with The New York Magazine, Trump said, “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”
As expected, Trump has denied any connection to Epstein’s alleged crimes. Most recently, the New York native has deflected attention connecting him to Epstein by retweeting a post from comedian Terrence K. Williams that insinuates Epstein had incriminating information about the Clintons.

Many of the women accusing Epstein of heinous crimes have continued to make their voices heard in his death. Jennifer Araoz said, “I am angry Jeffrey Epstein won’t have to face his survivors of his abuse in court.” Michelle Licata added, “I just wanted him to be held accountable for his actions. Simple as that.” Both women have accused Epstein of sexual abuse during their teenage years.
