Utah Jazz center Jeff Withey has been accused of domestic violence by his ex-fiancée, according to TMZ Sports. Kennedy Summers has filed a police report as the big man joins his team in battling the LA Clippers in the first round of the playoffs.
According to TMZ, the police report features multiple incidents, while officials are focusing on one particular one which allegedly occurred in 2016. TMZ reports that Summers has decided to file the accusation now because she lives in LA, where Withey has spent the last few days with his Jazz teammates.
Withey is currently averaging 2.5 points and two rebounds per game in two playoff contests, playing a total of 18 minutes.
Withey and Summers’ relationship was previously brought into light when the latter blasted the former on Twitter for seemingly having an adulterous relationship.
It’s not immediately clear whether Withey will be charged in any of the alleged incidents. In all likelihood, this will be a long process.
We will update the situation as more details emerge.
