The Buss family are certainly at odds with each other. In particular Jeanie Buss and brother Jim who are at different levels in terms of the state of the Lakers. Jeanie Buss gave Jim and general manager Mitch Kupchak a time limit for their rebuild. Something that the Philadelphia 76ers seemingly don’t have anymore. (That 7 year plan is totally out of the window let’s be honest)
Now Jeanie is packing the pressure. Saying that the Lakers should not only just make the Playoffs in the near future, but contend for the Western Conference Finals.
He has everything he needs to fulfill that promise of getting the team back competitive. And when I say competitive, it’s competing for the Western Conference final, which would mean at least second round – if not more.
With the way the team is going now, they should make the Playoffs in the next two seasons, whether they’ll be top 4 is a different question. If you put a gun to my head I would say that they won’t be that good in the near future but you never know how teams around them will be. But saying that, they have so many teams ahead of them.
