The NBA D-League has many players that are ready to contribute at the highest level, at least that’s what Utah is thinking with guard Travis Leslie.

Leslie, 22, was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers with the 47th pick in the 2011 NBA draft. The Clippers were loaded with guards last season (Paul, Foye, Williams, Billups, etc) and he was sent to the D-League instead, in which he averaged 10 points in 20 minutes per game. This year he improved his game, averaging 16 points in 7.4 in his D-League stint with the Santa Cruz Warriors. Leslie, a replacement in the D-League all-star game, went on to win the Most Valuable Player award.
The Jazz currently have 15 players on their roster, and will have to waive someone in order to have Leslie on board.
