Alec Burks spent a majority of last season on the injury list and he only participated in 31 games. Despite both him and fellow young guard Dante Exum both being on the shelf for a majority of the 2015-16 campaign the Jazz almost made the playoffs.
With the NBA on high alert and everyone well aware of what this young team from the midwest has to offer, it appears Burks has decided to undergo surgery to cleanup some issues in preparation for next season. A season in which many anticipate the Jazz to be a playoff contender and a team that might be able to surprise some in the postseason.
Following from an official Utah Jazz press release.
The following is a medical update on Utah Jazz guard Alec Burks:
Burks underwent successful arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to clean out debris from his left knee and ankle.
The outpatient procedure was performed in Salt Lake City by Jazz head orthopaedic team physician Dr. Travis Maak, and ankle and foot specialist Dr. Charles L. Saltzman, the chair of the department of orthopaedics at University of Utah Health Care.
Burks is expected to be ready prior to the start of 2016-17 Jazz training camp.
