In a move that is surprising to probably no one, Duke Blue Devils star wingman Jayson Tatum has officially declared for the 2017 NBA Draft. The forward recently saw his season come to an end after Duke was eliminated in a second round upset at the hands of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Duke and Tatum made the announcement on Twitter.

The prospects for Tatum in the NBA are insanely high, and if the talent around him was also exceptional, he might be the hands down number one overall pick. Scouts and league executives alike have had their eyes on Tatum for a long time and some even consider him as the number one pick.
The outlook on his NBA potential is fantastic and being a projected top five pick in possibly the most stacked NBA draft since 2003 bodes well for his future. Tatum might also be joined by his Duke teammates Grayson Allen and Luke Kennard in declaring for the 2017 NBA draft. All are projected as first round picks.
In his lone season at Duke, Tatum did pretty well for himself. He averaged 16.8 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks.
