Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown is not a fan of President Donald Trump. Brown hopes that the Celtics can find a way to come together against Trump, per NBC Sports:
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown says he has talked to the rest of the team about protesting President Trump’s comments about athletes.
Brown said Monday at that Celtics media day that he’s also spoken to Celtics general manager Danny Ainge and “he’s all for that.”
Trump complained about athletes protesting by taking knees during the National Anthem, calling them “sons of bitches.”
Brown says he wants the Celtics to find a way to protest as a team because “our voices are stronger together.”
Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe had another quote by Brown:
“I think basketball and athletes have a tremendous opportunity with our platform to do something about it,” Brown said.
Brown, who was drafted third overall by the Celtics in 2016, has had a reputation as a thoughtful and well-spoken young man, going back to his days at the University of California at Berkeley.
In his rookie season with the Celtics, Brown averaged 6.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per game on 45.4 percent shooting.
