T.D.E has been on top for a long time now, but their greatness has really shined in the last two months. The label kicked off the year with a nomination at the Golden Globe Awards for their work on Black Panther: The Album. From there, the label shifted towards the 61st Annual Grammy Awards where Jay Rock took home his first Grammy Award for “King’s Dead“. This week, the label is back in the spotlight as they are nominated for their first Academy Awards. Before Sunday’s ceremony, the label’s first act, Jay Rock, decided to drop some new music.
For the first time since winning his very first Grammy Award, Jay Rock has dropped a new track. Jay Rock’s “The Other Side” comes along with Mozzy and Dcmbr. The west coast rapper’s latest effort has the soulful, effortless style that we’ve come to expect from him. The track also serves as a lead up to his next project. Following the release of his last project, Redemption, Jay Rock told Rap-Up, “For those who’ve been rocking with me since day one and for those that’s new that’s been rooting for me, I appreciate it. That’s what’s keeping me going.”
