Jay Rock earns one of Los Angeles’ highest honors May 24, receiving the Key To Watts in a local ceremony.
Presented by the City Of Los Angeles and 15th District Councilmember, Joe Buscaino, the ceremony occurred in Jay Rock’s Nickerson Garden neighborhood at the recreational basketball courts.
The event honors Jay Rock’s contributions to his hometown. Councilman Joe Buscaino also announced May 24 as Jay Rock Day in Watts. Jay Rock also presented a monetary donation im partnership with TDE and Lyft, to the recreation center during the ceremony.
Musically, Jay Rock continues to celebrate the success of his album Redemption. The single Win recently earned Gold status and his collaboration King’s Dead with Future and Kendrick Lamar earned the rapper his first Grammy award.
