Former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen will get the starting nod this week for the Chicago Bears. Clausen will be replacing Jay Cutler who well……lets not go there. Clausen spent the early portion of his career in Carolina after being the 48th overall pick in the 2010 draft. Jimmy only appeared in games during his rookie campaign making 10 starts. The biggest role Clausen played for Carolina was providing the arrival of Cam Newton after the team landed the number one pick during the 2011 draft. After a tough rookie season Clausen has rode the bench and deserves a shot over the mentally defeated Cutler. The 27 year old gunslinger completed 64% of the 37 passes he completed during the preseason, with 2 touchdowns and an interception. While Jimmy may not be the long term solution anything is worth a try with the way Jay Cutler has been performing.
