Fenerbahce has found their Ekpe Udoh replacement in American big man Jason Thompson, the club announced. He signed with Fenerbahce on a one-year deal worth $1.8-million, with bonuses that could bring the deal to $2-million, per David Pick.

Thompson spent last season in the Chinese Basketball Association with Shandong where he averaged 18.7ppg and 13.9rpg.
That was Thompson’s first season overseas as he had spent the past eight years in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors.
The signing of Thompson almost officially puts the Thomas Robinson to Fenerbahce rumors to bed as well.
It will be interesting to see how Thompson gels with his big men teammates Nicolo Melli and Jan Vesely. If he fits in a similar fashion to Udoh, Fenerbahce will be near unstoppable in Euroleague next season.
Thompson is the clubs fourth signing of the summer, joining Melli, Marko Guduric, and Sinan Guler.
