Many Americans celebrated their 4th of July with fireworks; in the case of Jason Pierre-Paul his celebration took a turn for the worse.
According to Andy Slater of WINZ in Miami, Pierre-Paul “severely injured” his hand in a fireworks accident. A women claiming to be her neighbor tweeted out a photo of a “truck load of fireworks,” showing large boxes in a van. JPP also posted an Instagram video in front of the van prior the incident.
JPP was designated the Giants franchise player this offseason. The franchise tender would be worth $14.8 million but Pierre-Paul has yet to sign his deal in hops of landing a long term deal. To this point we are not sure how severe the accident was but this of course is the last thing Giants fans were hoping to hear. The former first round pick from South Florida recorded 12.5 sacks in 2014. The G-Men will absolutely miss his pass rushing presence if he were to miss any game time.
