Details of the deal were undisclosed, but Pick confirmed that the 32-year-old power forward’s new deal does not include an opt-out clause that would allow Maxiell to leave the CBA to join an NBA team mid-season.
After being a solid backup big man for the Pistons for the initial eight seasons of his career, Maxiell spent 2013-14 with the Orlando Magic, and the last season with the Hornets averaging 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in games. Maxiell played in the NBA for 10 seasons, accumulating career averages of 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and a slightly below league average 13 PER.
