Steph Curry has certainly been fantastic this season. The Golden State Warriors’ point guard and reigning MVP is putting up historic numbers while doing things on the basketball court that perhaps no one before him has done. That is not to mention the spectacular start he has led his team to, with the Warriors sitting at a 24-1 record.
Milwaukee Bucks’ head coach Jason Kidd has certainly noticed. After the game between the two teams on Saturday, which saw the Warriors lose their first game of the season, Kidd had high praise for Curry. By high praise, I mean that he compared Curry to Michael Jordan:
Jason Kidd on Steph Curry: "He's this generation's Jordan. We all wanted to be like Mike, and children today will grow up seeing Steph."

On the surface, this may seem blasphemous. Despite Curry’s unbelievable season, he is still nowhere near the level of a player that Jordan was, and he is not as close as some of his colleagues from the same generation. That is clear. But in terms of popularity, what Kidd is saying makes sense.
Curry is an unbelievably popular athlete right now. More importantly, he is a relateable one, even more so than Jordan. Due to his relatively small stature, his success is inspirational for plenty of children who now might believe they also have a chance for similar success. In that respect, with kids looking up to him, Curry really is similar to Jordan. Of course, this quote will eventually be blown out of proportion to mean something entirely different.
