In recent weeks we have watched the Golden State Warriors become the most hated team in the NBA. All because they have formed a super team. Which means that of the people that are hating on them, 85% are jealous that it’s not their team. So what can you do.
But I want to know, if you’re one of those Golden State haters, how would you feel in 2003 if Jason Kidd joined the San Antonio Spurs?
“I thought I was going to be a Spur,” Kidd, now the Milwaukee Bucks coach, said while watching his team during the Las Vegas Summer League on Monday. “I committed when I was down there on my visit [to San Antonio].
“On my flight home, I think I got cold feet,” Kidd continued. “And sometimes I have nightmares about that. Maybe I could have won a championship or two there. But I got really lucky with Dallas and won a championship.“
Now he eventually got his ring with Dallas but that 50/50 decision ended up being the worst decision Jason Kidd has made. He could’ve ended his career with multiple rings, he wouldn’t have had to suffer in New Jersey, wasting away his prime years.
But what’s done is done and in times like these I wish we could see the parallel universe where Kidd joined the Spurs. Not to see how many rings they one but how many of you haters would stay jealous of the Spurs. I know I would.
