The Milwaukee Bucks may be nearing a big free agency splash. The team has been linked to free agent point guard Derrick Rose for some time; this time, the report is straight from the horse’s mouth:

Rose, who averaged 18 points and 4.4 assists on the New York Knicks last year, had a bit of a resurgent campaign last season. But it was not without controversy as he began the year while under trial for rape and spent part of it missing in action during a highly publicized sabbatical without informing Knicks officials.
Rose is nowhere near the player he once was and teams have begun to take notice as the market for the former MVP has effectively dried up.
Nevertheless, the Bucks seem to think he is their answer at the point guard position and are reportedly looking to shed salary to potentially sign him.
Whether this will come to fruition or not remains to be seen but Jason Kidd – tampering, be damned – seems to think it’s a real possibility.
