After being declared out indefinitely just a couple of days ago. Jared Sullinger has received the unfortunate and expected news. Via press release. The Boston Celtics have announced that Sullinger will miss the remainder of the season.
The Boston Celtics announced today that, following further medical evaluation at the New England Baptist Hospital, it was determined that forward Jared Sullinger has sustained a left metatarsal stress fracture and will be out for the remainder of the 2014-15 regular season.
Now here’s the deal. The Boston Celtics made a trade for an Isaiah Thomas that I rate highly. He has the potential to have the output that Rajon Rondo gave them. With that trade. Some talking heads were saying that Boston could make a push for the Playoffs. If that wasn’t crazy before, it certainly is now. Sullinger is their best player in my opinion. He gets points, he gets rebounds. He can defend. What more do you want?
This will certainly put Boston in the tank. If they weren’t already. They are 1 1/2 games away from the 8th seed. But Detroit, Charlotte and Indiana are in the middle. So they need to make a decision. Attempt to play better than the four teams above them. Or be worse than Orlando who are 4 1/2 games behind them? That’s a tough decision to make. Danny Ainge, Brad Stevens and the team need to all know what they want collectively.
