The Cleveland Cavaliers have seen some rough times since LeBron James rejoined the team. “Rough times” in the same way rich people hit “rough times” when they lose a percentage of their wealth on the stock market. The family gets to go on one less fishing trip but they are back to vacationing in Bora Bora the next weekend. This Cavs have a very high ceiling so even just hitting the ceiling fan is seen as a disaster. Over the last 15 games, they have lost 9. They have given up more than 70 points by halftime twice in the last 5 games and have shown almost no defensive ability at all.
In this time of “crisis” a player in the Cavs locker room reportedly stepped up. A player that is a three time NBA champion, has been to the Finals 6 straight times, and has hit over 750 threes in his career, James Jones. Jones, according to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, gave a speech following the obliteration the Spurs handed to the Cavs in the form of a 103-74 loss. In the speech, Jones asked the team what they were hoping to get out of this season.
James Jones has been through the long fight before and knows what it takes. It is nice that the Cavaliers have another veteran presence in that locker room who can step up. The Cavaliers should be back on that white sand beach any day now.
