
The last year or so has marked the loss of many loved and celebrated musicians. Contemporary icons such as Mac Miller haved passed away prematurely. The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, passed away not to long ago at the age of 76. Today, the world of music said goodbye to yet another musician of note.

Grammy winner, James Ingram, passed away earlier today at the age of sixty-six. Ingram’s longtime friend and collaborator, Debbie Allen, broke the new earlier today on Twitter. Allen wrote, “I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir.” She added, “He will always be cherished, loved and remembered for his genius, his love of family and his humanity. I am blessed to have been so close. We will forever speak his name.”
In his long and storied career, Ingram earned two Grammy Awards and a pair of number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Ingram also worked with likes of Michael Jackson, Ray Charles and Quincy Jones. Most notably, Ingram helped co-write the hit single, “P.Y.T”.
Ingram leaves behind a younger brother, wife and additional family members. Our prayers are with the Ingram family at this time.
