The Golden State Warriors got whipped for the first time in a long time thanks to the Dallas Mavericks. With JJ Barea balling and Dirk Nowitzki DUNKING, people were calling for the entire Warriors team to retire. Just end the franchise and move to Seattle, it’s over.
One thing everyone can’t help noticing during the game, was the absence of Stephen Curry (who is day to day with a calf injury.) Is it a coincidence that they got whipped when Curry takes a game off? Whatever the answer is, the man who took the most flack on social media was Klay Thompson.
Now I admire Klay’s shot, silky smooth. But I was talking to a colleague after the game and we were wondering. Can he do anything else? Does Curry make him look good? I mean at this rate if I was rating shooting guards based on the whole package, I would have to put him under Wade, Butler and Harden.
Speaking of Harden, he doesn’t care for the Warriors much. Despite their record, Harden thinks they talk too much.
“People are going to talk,” Harden said. “Just let them talk and do whatever they’re going to do. Whatever gets them excited and whatever gives them that confidence to want to talk, just go ahead and do it. But we really know what’s going on.”
Asked if Thompson’s comment adds any motivation to Thursday’s meeting, Harden left it at “No.”
Short and sweet. Which is good but he has no reason to talk. The Rockets are butt ugly dissapointing this season. Thompson said earlier in the season that he’s the best shooting guard in the league. I disagreed. And now I have an exhibit A. Last night. The three above him can lead their team to a win. Klay is clearly a number 2. A great number 2, but hasn’t got the steel to be a number 1.
