Oh James Harden. He is really becoming that proverbial ‘Always the Bridesmaid’. That player that is so close to gaining success but just doesn’t get it. Kevin Durant has had that title for years and now Harden is this year’s bridesmaid. 2nd in MVP and 2nd in the Western Conference. It’s sad but that’s how the cookie crumbles.
Now Harden has analysed his Playoff performance, mostly negative I must say. But like every other athlete, ends on am optimistic note.
Harden said he was up to the challenge, and his season shouldn’t be viewed as a failure, but “thirteen turnovers is unacceptable,” he said.
“But just the crowd, just trying to play in a crowd, trying to do a little bit too much, and I turned the basketball over and gave them easy opportunities in transition. You know, it is what it is.”
“I’m all right, I’m 25 years old,” he said. “I’m all right.”
A summer off should help him.
“Yeah, hopefully; it would have been nice if it would have been another month from now,” Harden said. “But just time to relax and clear my mind and just be ready for another battle next year.“
That’s the spirit right there. Don’t take my comments earlier as gospel, it was just this year that you were the Bridesmaid. Doesn’t mean you’re that for your whole career.
