“This is home for me. I wanted to say thank you to J.J. Watt, what he’s doing for the city, that’s not – definitely – unnoticed. Thank you to the mayor for helping me. I just want to donate and give back to the community as much as I can. I’m going to donate a million dollars to the city and to the areas that need it and to people that need it to make the city stronger and put smiles on people’s faces.”
The storm is devastating the city that Harden’s Rockets play in.
Harden also vowed never to leave the Rockets via Twitter:

This is a very nice gesture. I’d also take it with a grain of salt. Things are great for the Rockets now. Harden is the focal point of the offense and has both a head coach who utilizes him perfectly as well as an astoundingly good (in terms of both talent and fit) supporting cast. Why would he want to leave a situation like that?
I think it’s fair to say, though, that Harden doesn’t know what’s in store for him and the franchise five, six, seven years down the road. If things end up going south – and I’m not saying they will – Harden isn’t going to stay because he once tweeted that he wouldn’t leave.
I hope Harden stays, because he’s great and the Rockets are fun. I just think it’s a little early for the 28-year-old to make a commitment like that.
