There have been times this offseason where it was unclear what team Jamal Crawford would play for next year. The Clippers traded for shooting guard Lance Stephenson, leaving many to wonder where Crawford fits into the picture. There were also rumors across the league that the Cleveland Cavaliers were trying to acquire the veteran guard as LeBron James wanted extra scoring help. That being said, Crawford remains a key piece in Los Angeles, for now.
Crawford is still one of the elite, if not the best, options off the bench in the entire NBA. However, like they say, father time is undefeated and Crawford is headed into his 16th year. The man dubbed “J-Cross” due to his lethal crossover knows his days left playing at a high level in the NBA are numbered and he made sure everybody knows it too via twitter.
"@ThatGuy_Sammie: @JCrossover sooo you gonna stay a clipper or join the cavs? ??"-I'm not a f/a, wish but I'm not.. Soo u gotta ask Doc…..

This tweet is a little confusing at first but it becomes clearer. What Crawford is really trying to say is he isn’t the happiest camper right now in Tinsel Town. Why? It may be because the wing talent they’ve added this summer and he may feel as if the organization isn’t being loyal to him. They did bring in Stephenson, as mentioned earlier, and also signed Paul Pierce, another veteran legend. J-Cross explains that the fate of his career is in the hands of head coach Doc Rivers. He also wishes he was a free agent which should obviously concern some Clipper fans.
The Clips are a legitimate title threat this upcoming season and they can’t afford to lose Crawford as he would provide tremendous floor spacing to a bench that consists of players without reliable outside strokes such as Stephenson and recent signee Josh Smith. Whether Crawford is dealt or not is up to the front office, but we do know he will still be embarrassing defenders left and right next season, whether it be in LA or elsewhere.
