Philadelphia 76ers rookie big man, Jahlil Okafor, who was selected 4th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, will miss 6 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a tear in his meniscus.
From Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears:
Sixers say rookie Jahlil Okafor has a small tear in the meniscus in his right knee and will have arthroscopic surgery. Expected out 6 weeks.

This late in the season, 6 weeks means season-ending surgery. After all, 6 weeks from now will be playoff time, and the Sixers, who sit at 8-56, are not a playoff team.
The 76ers will likely have to make a decision about who to keep, as far as big men go. They already have Nerlens Noel, Okafor, and Joel Embiid. It’s doubtful that they’ll be able to keep all 3. This doesn’t help Okafor’s odds of staying on the roster(although he might not mind a change of scenery) but Joel Embiid has yet to play an NBA game due to his own injury concerns, so who knows?
