The extensions add two years to the contracts of all three gentlemen involved. All of their contracts were set to expire after the 2019 season but the extension keeps them with the team until after the 2021 season.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan shared his optimism about the future of the franchise.
“The decision to extend the contracts of Tom, Dave and Doug isn’t so much a reward for last season, which no doubt was impressive, as it is to recognize their importance to our football team this coming season and for years to follow”

This past season was considered a huge success for the Jaguars. Their record of 10-6 was just enough for them to win the AFC South and secure a spot in the playoffs. The Jaguars made it to the AFC Championship game and nearly beat the New England Patriots.
The Jaguars are a young team with a lot going for them. They were an underdog team that nearly pulled off the impossible this past year. Keeping Coughlin, Caldwell, and Marrone is a positive move in the years to come. If the Jaguars can keep making the right moves and get a quarterback who can play consistently, then the Jaguars will be a force to be reckoned with in the league.
