The Jaguars continue to stay busy this offseason after closing in on a trade for Branden Albert. The team just released defensive end Jared Odrick. The agency that represents Odrick was the first to announce the news.
#TeamDEC @JaredOdrick has been notified by @Jaguars he will be released today. Will immediately become a free agent.

Jacksonville will now create $8.5 million in additional cap space. The good news is the move will not create any dead cap space as his contract was not guaranteed for this season. Odrick inked a 5 year, $42.5 million deal in 2015.
In 2016 Odrick missed 10 games due to injury which could be the driving force of the release. He also hasn’t been very productive either. His best moments came in 2015 during the first year with the club when he recorded 5.5 sacks.
