Jacque Vaughn appears to be next on the list of the Spurs influence moving to the Big Apple. Vaughn, formerly the head coach of the Orlando Magic and current member of the San Antonio Spurs front office, has agreed to join new head coach of the Brooklyn Nets Kenny Atkinson on his coaching staff for next season.
Vaughn now also joins Sean Marks as former members who learned under Gregg Popovich and RC Buford while Atkinson is still an assistant on Mike Budenholzer’s coaching staff, and of course coach Bud is a Pop disciple.

Former Orlando Magic coach Jacque Vaughn is joining the Brooklyn Nets as the top assistant to new head coach Kenny Atkinson, league sources told The Vertical.
Vaughn spent the 2015-16 season in the San Antonio Spurs’ front office as a pro personnel director.
Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks worked closely with Vaughn during their shared time together with the Spurs.
All signs point towards this being a good signing for the Nets. Vaughn was never given the right time or talent to work with being the first coach in the post-Dwight Howard era in Orlando. His players were young and had skill but they just weren’t ready to go to the next level. Now, Vaughn will join Atkinson and it appears the Nets are going to instill some sense of the Spurs mentality in Brooklyn.
