
Jackie Chan has signed on to lend his voice to an upcoming animated film, Once Upon a Zodiac. The Rush Hour star is also set to executive produce the Toonbox Entertainment film.
Chan will apparently voice a Zell, an elderly cat sage who speaks with wisdom and balanced charisma. Zell is a legend among other animal leaders and their heirs. He has embraced the role of cats as the stewards of the Zodiac and helps continue the traditions and balance of the other animals.
Galen Walker, a producer on the film, released a statement regarding the casting news. “We are proud to have Jackie Chan part of this film as an executive producer. We are captivated by Jackie Chan’s talent and the leadership that he brings to our animated film.”
Chan is also set to star alongside John Cena in Project X-traction a film following two ex-special forces soldiers. Chan has previously lent his voice to animated films such as The Nut Job 2, Jackie Chan Adventures, and the Kung-Fu Panda franchise.
No further casting news or release date has been announced for Once Upon a Zodiac.
