With the playoff picture in the Bucks’ grasp and the return of Khris Middleton, it seemed as if it was going to be a good season for Milwaukee until Jabari Parker suffered a torn ACL on February 8th. This is the second significant injury of Parker’s NBA career, and a 12-month timetable for return is nothing short of frustrating.
Jabari Parker came out of his shell this season and went on to average a career-high in scoring, rebounding, assists and his 3FG% skyrocketed from 26% to 37%. Fans all around the league finally know what to expect from him after this season, but unfortunately, his season was cut short.
Parker has spoken to the media for the first time since his ACL injury, and he is confident that we will see a Jabari Parker that we haven’t seen before upon return.
“It’s going to be fun, to tell you the truth,” Parker said of his recovery program. “I love challenges. I love being in the position I am. I didn’t really feel like talking, but I feel like God has given me this for a reason, because He knows I can handle it.
“So I take that burden, because I know a lot of people can’t go through this.”
Parker said he believes he can surpass the form he showed this season.
“I don’t want to be the same player,” Parker said. “I wouldn’t be myself if I don’t challenge myself to do better things, bigger things.
“I know I can be better.”
