J.R. Smith is not one to shy away from any role he’s been given in his NBA career. The guy has been known to ‘shoot his shot’ whenever he has been asked and he definitely hasn’t been shy about doing so.
It appears a new shot might come his way and it could possibly be off a nice assist from LeBron James. No, it’s not another made three against the Atlanta Hawks but it appears that a movie role might be coming J.R.’s way. A movie role in Space Jam 2, a project that reportedly is expected to star LeBron James, Smith’s current teammate on the Cavaliers.
Following from TMZ Sports.
We spoke to Smith’s rep Daniel Hazan … who says producers contacted him a few weeks ago to see if Smith would be down for a part — and J.R.’s ears perked up.
“There is mutual interest,” Hazan says.
As for the role — nothing’s set in stone, but producers have kicked around the idea of Smith possibly voicing an animated character … a la “the Monstars” from the original.
Hazan says he’s hopeful the two sides will be able to work something out soon — saying at the end of the day, “It all depends on the deal.”
