Chances are you’ve already seen this video but if not, feast your eyes on the beauty that is J.R. Smith stepping off the court to hug Jason Terry instead of playing defense:
Man, J.R. Smith really just decided to stop playing and wanted to show love to Jason Terry instead. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/mvQT86RDJz

That is the greatness that is J.R.
After the game, a masked Smith (or as he called it, his alter-ego) was asked about the mistake on defense and his answer was equally hilarious.

“I didn’t know I was in the game. My bad.” Peak J.R.
That is peak J.R. until he explained his alter-ego mask:

It really has been the year of J.R. Smith thus far. He won an NBA championship. He took his shirt off for approximately two weeks. He got roasted by President Obama. Now he’s blowing defensive assignments to go hug other players and no one is upset, nor should they be. Right now, it’s J.R.’s world and we are all just fortunate to be living in it.
