Los Angeles Clippers have been doing a lot of promotion this season. Whether it was for themselves or for a teammate, the Clippers are always saying how good one of the guys are on the team. Rightfully so, they’re all pretty good.
DeAndre Jordan has been the target for a bunch of that this season but now it seems like a new player is getting his name thrown in the conversation.
Clippers guard J.J. Redick took to Sirius XM to talk about his backcourt All-Star teammate Chris Paul and what he could end up being when Paul’s career is over.
We have #Clippers sharpshooter @JJRedick going #OffTheDribble with @JoelMeyersNBA & @MalikRose RIGHT NOW!

“If he wins a championship, he’ll go down as the greatest point guard ever." @JJRedick on @CP3

Greatest ever? I don’t think so. He can be in the conversation, sure, but greatest EVER. No.
That means Paul will be better than Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Isiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Bob Cousy, Gary Payton or even Tony Parker.
While Paul might end his career being better than a few of those guys, I can’t see him passing guys like Magic, Isiah, Stockton or Oscar Robertson on that list. Especially if CP3 has never won an MVP award.
CP3 does have the stats, his game speaks for itself and he has a tenacity that most other point guards don’t have but the big issue for Paul is, he’s never won a title. He’s never made it deep in the playoffs either and to be considered great, you need to win games or hold some sort of amazing records.
I think this is more of a thing Redick is doing to try to hype up his teammate and help give him some motivation for the stretch run of the season.
