Bear with me as I can barely form a cohesive thought right about now. Having a triumphant and majorly successful 2015, J. Cole surely has had a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Dropping 2014 Forest Hills Drive in December 2014, J. Cole latest LP was the topic of conversation and officially became apart of the record books as it became the first album in several years to go platinum without any featured artists. Now, as many of us were stuffing our faces with leftovers, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar shocked us all as they have dropped two brand new records, ‘Black Friday.’ First up, J. Cole hops on Kendrick’s praised hit, ‘Alright’ and completely goes into blackout mode. Unleashing a fierce set of rhymes, J. Cole displays why he’s quickly becoming one of the most respected rappers in the Hip-Hop industry. What comes as the biggest surprise is that the ‘Apparently’ rapper hints that something will be dropping in February. Whether it’s a collaboration album/mixtape with Kendrick or simply by himself, there’s no doubt that many of us are anticipating it.
