The Houston Rockets 2015-16 season was one of the weirdest in recent memory and it all went downhill starting with them firing head coach Kevin McHale only 11 games into the season. J.B. Bickerstaff took over but overall the season was nothing to be proud of seeing as the Rockets, who made the Western Conference Finals in 2015, ended the season with an exact .500 record and a first round elimination at the hands of the defending champion Golden State Warriors.
And to put a cherry on top, their lackluster season was full of drama. There was Dwight Howard trade rumors aplenty, James Harden and Dwight apparently do not like each other and even a trade that backfired resulting in a player staying with Houston after a reported failed physical.
Their season was a mess and now it appears J.B. Bickerstaff wants nothing more to do with the Houston Rockets.

After a meeting with ownership and the front office on Monday, Houston Rockets interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff has informed team officials that he’s no longer a candidate for the head-coaching job, league sources told The Vertical.
Other NBA teams have started reaching out to Bickerstaff about lead assistant coaching positions, and that’s where he’s transitioned his focus, league sources said.
