Every year we always get that one player that we’ve never heard of but if you ask people that are heavily into the EuroLeague, they go “Oh he’s great he will definitely do well in the NBA.”
Now obviously some of the players that move in from Europe or anywhere else don’t always pan out, but you never know, the next one always looks good, someday there’ll be one that’ll boss it. Enter Alessandro Gentile, who, for some reason, wants to play for the Houston Rockets.
“My goal is to play in the NBA next year,” Gentile told The Vertical. “I really hope this can happen. For me, Mike D’Antoni is like a legend in Italian basketball, an example for everyone. For him to coach me would be very, very nice.”
“I have had a chance to grow up in the last year, playing as a captain for an important team like Milan and winning two championships as a leader of the team,” Gentile told The Vertical. “That’s all helped me to improve. The moment is right for me. I’d like to have the chance to try and play in [the NBA].”
Really? Mike D’Antoni is a legend in Italy? Alright, I’ll take his word for that.
It’s a shame that the team is mediocre behind James Harden and with Dwight Howard most likely leaving, the team will be even worse off. I wouldn’t join a team just because of the coach but hey if he wants to ball in Houston, go ball in Houston.
