It seems as if Issa Rae can do no wrong in the world. Last month, HBO renewed Rae’s comedy series, Insecure, for a fourth season. Two weeks ago, Rae ushered in the third season finale of her HBO series. Not to mention, she will also be starring in the upcoming film, The Hate U Give. With all of that going on, Rae has managed to pick up even more projects going forward. Today, we got a sneak preview of what Rae’s next move will be.
Rae will star in the upcoming romantic comedy, American Princess, directed by Stella Meghie. The Paul Feig produced film will feature Rae playing the role of an American woman who moves to London, gets swept up into a high class life and falls in love. The script for the film will be put together by Amy Aniobi, who has worked with Rae on her HBO series, Insecure.
As of now, there are no further public casting updates involving the film. There are also no set dates for the film’s production or release, but the film does appear to be in full swing. Stay tuned for more details as Rae continues to take over the world of entertainment.
