The streak as been broken!! Oh wait, I actually have to elaborate on what streak because there have been so many going on this season. We are talking about the Golden State Warriors home win streak which started on January 27th 2015. Since then we have had 2 SuperBowl Champions and the Triple Crown drought ended. That’s how long it’s been.
The team that broke this streak was the Boston Celtics, a team I have been riding all season. I have been saying this team will go places and snapping this streak is a big statement. Isaiah Thomas is on a streak himself as a matter of fact. 15 consecutive games as the Celtics leading scorer, that’s a franchise record. He lead the team once again on the floor in this key win and thanks head coach Brad Stevens for the help on the sideline.
“[Stevens] kept saying, ‘Look, this is ours. We’re going to win it,’” said Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas, whose layup with 8.3 seconds remaining — the result of a needle-threading inbound pass from second-year guard Marcus Smart, coupled with a pair of last-gasp misses by the Warriors, allowed Boston to emerge with a heart-stopping 109-106 triumph at Oracle Arena.
Added Thomas: “[Stevens] showed more emotion than usual.”
“We know we can beat the best teams in the league,” Thomas said. “In our schedule, we beat a lot of the top teams. And we know we can compete. And we know we’re a team that guys don’t really want to play when it comes to the playoffs, just because of how we play and how hard we play.“
I cannot wait for the Eastern Conference Playoffs. I have been saying that the Cavs won’t make the NBA Finals and there are so many good teams behind them, they all have the opportunity to upset.
GAME 7’s FOR EVERYBODY!
