We all know the feeling. You’re in the middle of something important and you have to go, but can’t.
Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas is right there with you. During his junior season at Washington, the Huskies were in a close match late against their rival Washington State and Thomas needed to use the bathroom. What did he do?
This from the Boston Globe:
“There was a late timeout and Thomas needed to use the bathroom, but he worried that if he left the game he might not return in time. So he asked for a towel and told his teammates to encircle him.”
“He put the towel in his shorts and peed on the bench, because he didn’t want to check out,” said Raphael Chillious, who became an assistant at Washington. “That was a guy who wanted to compete.”
I can’t decide whether that’s just Thomas being competitive and wanting to play, or just straight up nasty but hey, I guess in certain situations “you gotta do what you gotta do.”
Thomas and Celtics will need to do A LOT this next coming week, as the seventh seeded Celtics face the second seeded Cavaliers lead by LeBron James in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Game One is tomorrow at 3pm with television coverage provided by ABC.
