Isaiah Thomas and Dennis Schröder have made it publicly known this season that they dislike each other, with a new rivalry between the two sides emerging in recent weeks.
It started in last year’s Playoffs: Thomas was called for a flagrant foul after hitting Schröder in the head, and since then, tempers have flared between the two players.
Friday, Schröder accused Thomas of making some unruly comments about his mother, to which Thomas later politely denied saying.
But on Sunday, Thomas was a tad more aggressive in his defense:

“I don’t talk about nobody’s mom. I don’t cuss at nobody’s mom,” Thomas told reporters. “And I don’t talk about people’s families. So whatever he said is a 100 percent lie. And he knows that.”
Thomas ended his brief talk with a dagger:
“From this point on I don’t even want to talk about Dennis Schroder, because he’s not even on the level that I’m trying to be on. And I’m not even focused on him anymore.”
Isaiah Thomas is undoubtedly in the midst of the best season of his career, averaging a career-high 28.2 points per game while keeping the Celtics afloat in the Eastern Conference.
For Thomas, a surefire All-Star selection next month, he refuses to allow Dennis Schröder, or anyone else for that matter, distract him from continuing his stellar play.
Thomas finished Friday’s Celtics-Hawks game with 28 points, including the game-winning jump shot.
